Dubai is a true desert. Until recently it hadn't rained here for 25 years. The swimming pool on the roof top of my hotel was
so hot i couldn't stick my hand in it for more than a second! Temperatures ranged from 100-107 degrees F during my stay.

It was fun to take the water ferry over to the silk, gold, and spice souks (outdoor markets).
I wish i could have recorded the mesmerizing sounds of the Muslim chants broadcast throughout the city five times a day beginning
at 5:30 am.
I actually miss it.

Dubai is just east of Saudi Arabia.
South of Iran across the Gulf of Oman.

Dubai (Do Buy) is definitely built for tourists with large construction projects going on everywhere.
I enjoyed a beautiful catered dinner on board this ferry while viewing the spectacular city lights. Then we were entertained
by a belly dancer who got a few of us up and dancing.
