Third grade graduation day

Before the big day all the kids clean their classrooms thoroughly for the next class coming in.

Some of my favorite boys waiting to say goodbye to the graduating class as they exit the school grounds.

The first and second graders don't attend the formal graduation ceremony, but they are all there to enthusiastically say their goodbye's.

Third graders were marched in under a colorful banner to the music of the brass band. It was quite spectacular.

After the graduation ceremony the kids carry their homeroom teacher on their backs and all exit the school grounds.
Adios, bye, bye.

Then the third graders come back in to say goodbye and give flowers and more flowers to all their teachers.
This is quite moving to see how close these kids are with their teachers.

I will miss Kocho-sensei (Masago principal).
He had such a good sense of humor.
He was always positive and cheerful and tried to speak English with me everyday.
