Kabutoyama
I finally took the time to ride my bike up into the hills above my apartment to explore Kabutoyama.
Actually I rode and then parked the bike and hiked up the hill.
Kabuto means helmet in English and yama means mountain. Kabutoyama appears to be shaped like an old Japanese helmet.
Gorgeous sexy lady, eh?
Kabutoyama in the background.
Quite the view of Nishinomiya from here.

Ashiyama
Oh gawd, what did these guys get me into?
It's too late to go back down so onwards and upwards.
On the way up we ran into a bunch of not-so-wild boars.
I guess they can be dangerous but these were like dogs begging for food.
So why don't I look this good hiking?
Masa is our most wonderful guide on this hike.
He knows these trails from many years of hiking.
Ok, so it was worth it once we got to the top!

Oh, how I wish I could take all my friends up here just for the view.
If I make it to the top of Kilimanjaro next month it will be due to these two guys dragging me on some training hikes.
How nice to have such friends.
